I was going to do that thing I do sometimes where I post music videos of songs I really like, but the song I was going to do this with was Cage the Elephant’s “Aberdeen”. Have you seen the video for “Aberdeen”? No? Go ahead, I’ll wait.
There is something so darkly, sadly funny about listening to my mother ask her recently widowed brother how he’s doing since my aunt passed three months ago while “Owner of a Lonely Heart” plays on the ’80s music channel.
UPDATE: Aaaaaand now it’s “Karma Chameleon”. Less topical, still tragicomic.
